Artist Name & Roles

1. Album-Level Roles

Artist fields must consider the following factors:

  • If the album has one track:Fill in Artist, Composer, and Lyricist at both the album and track levels, matching exactly.
  • If the album has two or more tracks:Retain only the Artist at the album level; fill in Artist, Composer, and Lyricist at the track level.
  • If the album genre is Classical:Refer to the Classical Release Guidelines.

2. Full Name of Songwriters

  • Chinese Names:At least 2 Chinese characters.
  • English Names:Must have a complete First Name + Last Name, with initial letters capitalized.
  • Mixed Languages:If the author name mixes Chinese and English, unify it into one language.

3. No Parallel Translations

Parallel translations are not supported for role names.

Error Example:夏天 Summer, Zhang Moumou (Zhang San)

Rule:Choose either the real name or stage name. The same applies to Composer and Lyricist.

4. Artist Name Restrictions

Artist names must not contain any other information, such as roles, dates, instruments, band types, websites, etc. Do not use label or company names as artist names.

Original Artist Name:For Karaoke versions, tribute versions, cover versions, and ringtones, the original artist's name must not be displayed in any artist field.

5. Special Character Restrictions

Artist, Composer, and Lyricist fields must not contain special characters.

For example:&, $, ¢, ∞, ¬, _, +, =, ≠, ', `, *, etc.

6. Required Fields

Instrumental tracks do not require a Lyricist, but Artist and Composer are always required at the track level.

7. Feature Artist

Example:An album has 5 tracks.

  • Single Track Feature:If one track features 'Jason', only add Feature Artist Jason at the track level.
  • Full Album Feature:If 'Jason' features on every track, add Feature Artist Jason at the album level as well.

8. Remix

Remix tracks (including sped-up, slowed-down, and lo-fi versions) should list the original artist as the primary artist and assign the "Remixer" role to the remix creator.

9. Production and Engineering Personnel

Add production personnel information for each track as completely as possible to the corresponding roles.

Minimum Requirement:At least one role from Songwriter, Production & Engineering, and Performer categories must be added.

  • Listed at Album Level:If the same person (e.g., producer, recording engineer, or graphic designer) participated in all tracks of an album, they must be listed at the album level.
  • Listed at Track Level:If the person only participated in some tracks, they only need to be listed at the corresponding track level.
  • Note:Whether at the album or track level, such participants must not be set as the Primary Artist.
